Andrew Thomas QC

Andrew Thomas was born and brought up in Wrexham, where he still lives now. He studied law at the University of Cambridge and completed bar finals at the Inns of Court School of Law in London. He undertook pupillage at Sedan House, Chester (now 1 Stanley Place). He has practised on the Wales and Chester Circuit ever since.

He was appointed Queen's Counsel in January 2008, one of only three in the country to do so on the basis of a mixed civil/criminal practice. He was also appointed as a Recorder in 2008.

Mr Thomas undertakes civil work principally in the areas of:

police law
judicial review
commercial and property contracts
professional negligence
personal injuries
He is recommended in the "Legal 500" for commercial litigation.

Mr Thomas also has a substantial criminal practice particularly in the areas of fraud and homicide. He also undertakes specialist prosecutions on behalf of local authorities, and confiscation proceedings for the Regional Asset Recovery Team.
