Bethan Japheth

Bethan has been a member of chambers since 1998 after successfully completing her pupillage with us. She obtained her law degree in Cardiff and carried out the Bar Vocational Course at the Inns of Court. On successfully securing a ‘Pegasus’ scholarship she spent 3 months gaining invaluable experience of the legal system in Hong Kong, working alongside solicitors, barristers and a Court of Appeal Judge.

She is an experienced practitioner dealing with all aspects of family work including children cases, divorces and cohabitation disputes. She represents a wide range of parties particularly, Local Authorities, parents, children and vulnerable adults. She often deals with matters in the High Court, having been led by Queen’s Counsel in such a case and less frequently she deals with appeals to the Court of Appeal. Bethan has presented at a number of seminars organized by chambers over the years on a wide range of subjects including adoption, public law children matters and ancillary relief.
