Caroline Harris
Caroline joined chambers in 2001 and was pupil to Andrew Thomas QC. She studied Law with French at the University of Birmingham and gained a Diploma in French Law form the University of Limoges.
Since joining chambers, Caroline has participated in the Paris Bar Exchange (working for a month in a French Law firm) as well as the Anglo-Dutch Exchange.

Caroline has a successful criminal practice both prosecuting and defending serious cases in the Crown Court and Court of Appeal. She has also been allocated Grade 3 status as a prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service to prosecute serious matters.
She is known for her calm and measured approach to cases particularly those involving difficult parties. She is a dedicated practitioner who makes herself available to instructing solicitors whenever advice is required and will attend solicitors’ offices to meet clients or discuss issues with those instructing her.
Housing
Caroline has a particular interest in Housing Law, acting primarily for tenants in cases involving anti-social behaviour, discrimination, s204 appeals, ASBIs and Judicial Review. Her paperwork in this area of law has often resulted in cases resolving in a client’s favour and her hands-on approach has attracted a variety of instructions. Caroline prefers to be involved from the very early stages, advising and drafting court forms and documents if necessary. She has particular expertise dealing with clients with mental illness and learning difficulties.

Caroline has dealt with a wide variety of regulatory matters and has represented a number of local authorities and lay clients in cases ranging from liquor licensing to fish labeling regulations.
