Elfyn Llwyd MP

Elfyn was admitted as a Solicitor in 1977 and became a partner in his firm in 1978.

He gained extensive litigation and advocacy experience in criminal work and civil, including planning appeals. He also has extensive experience in Family Law, including children and ancillary relief cases.

He was President of the Gwynedd Law Society 1990-1991. He was called to the Bar in 1997. Elfyn conducts trials in the Crown Court for both prosecution and defence and is a fluent Welsh speaker with experience of conducting trials through the medium of Welsh.

He was elected Member of Parliament for Meirionydd Nant Conwy in 1992 and served, inter alia, on the Standing Committee of the Family Law Act 1996 and introduced a number of amendments to the Bill.

He is a member of the Criminal Bar Association and the Family Law Bar Association.
