Kate Meredith-Jones

Kate was brought up and educated in North Wales and gained her degree and LLM at The University of Birmingham.
She was awarded a Diplock Scholarship and a Blackstone exhibition by her Inn.
Kate's practice includes criminal, family and mental health law.

Family Practice
Kate has a keen interest in, and undertakes all aspects of, family work including Private and Public law Children Applications. She acts for parents, children and local authorities. She also undertakes ancillary relief claims, cohabitation disputes and Children Act matters. Kate is a member of the Family Law Bar Association.

Crime Practice

Kate prosecutes and defends in the Crown Court and the Magistrates' Court. She prosecutes on behalf of the CPS,  Probation Service, DWP and Local Authorities and has had conduct of a range on Criminal matters including cases involving serious violent offences, robbery drug offences, theft, sexual offences and motoring law.

Mental Health Law Practice
Kate's LLM focussed on Mental Health Law. She deals with all applications under the Mental Health Act and represents both restricted and non-restricted patients at mental Health Review Tribunals in England and Wales. She has a particular interest in safeguarding the needs of vulnerable adults. Kate represents Local Authorities and private clients in  matters  in the County Court.
