Policeman jailed for cruelty
Two policemen were jailed for 18 months after inflicting ‘deliberate cruelty’ on a 19 year old woman in their custody in Manchester. Nicholas Williams (pictured) of 1 Stanley Place chambers successfully prosecuted the policemen who were found guilty after a trial at Manchester Crown Court.

Mother convicted of killing her son
Julie Travis was jailed for life on the 21st December 2009 for the murder of her 23 year old son. Owen Edwards led by Ian Murphy QC prosecuted the 46 year old , who was convicted after trial of attacking her son with a golf club.
