Chambers team defends Chester Woman acquitted of Murder
Andrew Thomas QC and Simon Mills defended Miss Nicola Bishop who was charged
with the murder of a Chester man who died from a stab wound to the heart. After
a two week trial, Mr Justice Teare Kt upheld a defence submission that there was
no case for her to answer. The case had attracted considerable local publicity.
Mr Thomas QC and Mr. Mills were instructed by Walker Smith Way solicitors.

Successful Prosecution for Murder of new wife

Man with ‘unhealthy’ interest in women acquitted of Burglary
Anna Pope recently defended Ian Nixon who was recently acquitted of charges of burglary by a jury at Carlisle Crown Court. The prosecution alleged that he had an unhealthy obsession with female students entering their bedrooms whilst they were asleep.Click here for further details:

Policemen jailed for cruelty
Two policemen were jailed for 18 months after inflicting ‘deliberate cruelty’ on a 19 year old woman in their custody in Manchester. Nicholas Williams (pictured) of 1 Stanley Place chambers successfully prosecuted the policemen who were found guilty after a trial at Manchester Crown Court.
